Dermaplaning is the latest beauty treatment that’s got people talking. A fusion treatment that combines both peach fuzz removal and skincare,

Essentially, a dermaplane facial is an exfoliation and hair removal treatment carried out by our trained therapists  during which the surface of the skin is gently scraped using a surgical scalpel to remove dead skin cells and peach fuzz – the small hairs found on the face.

As we age, our cell turnover decreases and this affects our skin texture and tone, Dermaplaning gently buffs the top layer of dead skin cells away helps to reveal a brighter and smoother complexion leaving skin ultra-smooth and perfectly prepped for make-up, so it takes on an “airbrushed” finish.

Dead skin cells make your complexion look dull and contribute to clogged pores and spots. Dermaplaning clears the way so skin peels, facials, skin products and serums can get down into the skin where they need to be rather than sitting on the skin’s surface. It also removes peach fuzz / vellus (fine) hair on the face and creates clear channels into the skin as well as a soft, smooth surface for makeup to glide on flawlessly.

Depending on which facial you choose there will be several protocols we will use.

Prior to any of our dermapaning facials we will thoroughly cleanse using our ZO face wash. Next the dermaplaning is done with a sterile  micro-blade held at a 45-degree angle and brushed along the surface of the skin to remove thin layers of dead skin cells and fine hairs. This is then  followed by either a ZO skin peel  for extra exfoliation or the high frequency energy machine.

All of our facials will be followed by ZO skin care products.

Hair on the face is a type known as villous hair, rather than the dark, thick terminal hair that grows elsewhere.  Shaving the face does not in any way cause vellus hair follicles to transform into terminal hair follicles.

There will be increased glow to your skin with an even complexion, reduction of hyperpigmentation, improved skin tone and a reduction of ‘peach fuzz’ vellus hair. Skin may be a little pink immediately after treatment but this normally subsides within an hour or so. Repeat treatment is recommended once every 1-2 skin cycles (approximately 6-12 weeks).

Some patients may experience excessive dryness or even some peeling between sessions, this usually subsides with 2 or 3 hours after the treatment. More sensitive skin may have some redness after the first couple of sessions, which usually goes away quickly as well. Dermaplaning may cause minor superficial abrasions, which may not appear until a day or two following your treatment.

Avoid physical activity until all redness has subsided. Further after care includes using a post treatment ZO cleanser twice daily, followed by a ZO programme as well as SPF SPF 30+ at all times for a minimum of two weeks. In addition, direct sunlight exposure and tanning beds should be completely avoided immediately following treatment.

Your age is catching up to you and you see it every time you look at your reflection in the mirror. You feel like you are twenty years old on the inside, but the outside is telling you another story. As you age, your skin loses it’s elasticity and healthy glow. You can begin to see hollows, skin that sags, and wrinkles. You want to do something about the effects of ageing, and by combining dermal fillers with botulinum toxin could give you the results you have been looking for and also give you more youthful skin that is sure to make you smile.

By having some treatment to the areas of concern such as botox for crows feet can help soften the lines and prevent new lines from forming.

Let us capture your images on our Vectra 3D analysis Tayside’s only clinic to offer this photography. We can take images in 3D to allow you to see what we can achieve before the treatment.

How Can Dermal Fillers Help You?

Dermal fillers are injected into areas of concern to add volume, and also help to smooth the lines in your face. They can be used on the lips and around the mouth to provide fullness and address lines that form, giving the mouth a pinched appearance. Use both in combination for results that last longer and look natural.
