The treatment should only be performed by a Doctor or Surgeon,Dentist and Nurse Prescriber with specialist training and criteria. Our lead Nurse Kristeen Geddes has passed the criteria to be able to treat her patients independently.
Patients report good tolerance of the treatment.
The treatment will be repeated between two and three times under the chin depending on the number of small pockets of fat tissue to be reduced. The treatment is repeated every four weeks.
After each treatment patients can expect some swelling, bruising redness and skin irritation and tenderness in the area treated, which will subside after four to six days. Swelling occurs in the chin area
Contraindications: Pregnancy and lactation, liposdystrophy, pathological conditions and for those under 18 years of age. We can also treat older patients who have good skin quality in the areas to be treated.
A reduction in fat deposits can usually be seen after just one treatment, however between 2-4 sessions are usually required to see the optimal effect. This may vary between patients. The speed at which results are seen will vary depending on the stability of the cell membranes; younger patients are more likely to results after a longer period. Results may vary from patient to patient and case by age.
We assess each treatment at week 6 and decide on further sessions. Sessions are paid every 6 weeks.
It is suitable for patients who do not want the more invasive liposuction or laser lipo treatments, who do not have large amounts of fat to remove and who are over 18 years. However the use of Aqualyx can be used in those over the age of 65 with good skin quality (used off licence). The treatment is not suitable for pregnant or lactating women or those with a pathological condition.

Patients can expect a little skin irritation, bruising and oedema, which will ease after a few days into a week. However this can last up to 6 weeks or more and all patients respond differently. A special garment is provided for you to wear after the treatment for best results and reduce swelling. There is no extra charge for the garment.
