Thread PDO Lift in Dundee
Thread PDO- More Than Just a Lift
A PDO thread lift isn’t about trying to make you look like a different person. It’s about supporting and repositioning the tissues, improving definition and giving the face a more lifted, refreshed appearance — while also stimulating the skin’s natural collagen response around the threads. PDO threads are made from polydioxanone (PDO), a material that has been used safely in medicine for many years. The threads are gradually absorbed by the body, while the collagen response they stimulate can continue to support the skin over time.

Our Thread PDO Lift Process
Let’s Start With Your Face
We start by looking properly at your face — what’s bothering you, where you’ve lost definition and what you actually want to improve.
Getting Everything Ready
Before we start, we’ll go through the plan, mark the areas being treated and make sure you’re comfortable. No rushing, no guesswork and no adding threads just for the sake of it.
Putting the Support Where It’s Needed
This is where we get to work. The PDO threads are carefully placed into the tissue to provide subtle support, improve definition and stimulate your skin’s own collagen response.

Questions You May Have
What is PDO threads?
What areas can PDO threads treat?
PDO threads can be used to improve areas of skin laxity and loss of definition, including the jawline, lower face, cheeks and neck. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual anatomy and concerns.
Will PDO threads give me a facelift?
No. PDO threads are not a replacement for a surgical facelift. They provide a more subtle, non-surgical lifting and contouring effect and are generally most suitable for early to moderate skin laxity.
Will the treatment hurt?
Local anaesthetic is used to help keep you comfortable during the procedure. You may experience some pressure, pulling or mild discomfort during treatment, followed by tenderness or soreness afterwards.
How quickly will I see results?
Some lifting and contouring may be noticeable immediately following treatment, although swelling can temporarily affect the appearance. As the healing process progresses and collagen is stimulated, the appearance continues to settle and improve.
How long do PDO thread results last?
Results vary between individuals depending on factors such as age, skin quality, lifestyle and the degree of skin laxity. Thread-lift results are temporary and may last approximately 1–3 years, although this varies considerably.
Will I have swelling or bruising?
Yes. Some swelling and bruising is expected following treatment and can vary from person to person. You may also experience temporary tenderness, tightness or pulling sensations while the tissues settle.
Can I go back to work after my treatment?
Many people can return to normal activities relatively quickly, depending on the extent of treatment and how they feel. We will provide you with individual aftercare advice, including guidance on exercise and activities during the healing period.
Are PDO threads safe?
PDO threads are widely used as absorbable medical-grade sutures. However, as with any medical aesthetic procedure, there are potential risks. These can include bruising, swelling, bleeding, infection, asymmetry, tenderness, lumpiness or irregularities. Your individual risks will be discussed during your consultation.
Is there downtime after treatment?
Our aim is always to create a subtle and natural-looking result rather than an over-lifted appearance. The amount and positioning of threads will be determined according to your facial anatomy, skin quality and desired outcome.
Who is suitable for PDO threads?
PDO threads may be suitable for people with mild to moderate skin laxity who want improved definition and lifting without undergoing surgery. A consultation is required to assess whether threads are appropriate for you and whether another treatment may provide a better result.
Can PDO threads be combined with other treatments?
PDO threads can form part of a wider facial rejuvenation plan and we often add in some radiesse or HA fillers at the same tie for optimal results.
Do the threads stay in my face permanently?
No. PDO threads are absorbable. They gradually break down and are absorbed by the body over time, while the collagen response they stimulate can continue to support the treated area.
Do I need a consultation before treatment?
Yes. A consultation allows us to assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, degree of laxity and expectations. We can then determine whether PDO threads are appropriate and recommend the most suitable treatment approach for you.
What are the costs?
Our PDO thread lift starts from as little as £450 for lower or upper face for threads only.
