PRP For Female Hair Loss

As we start to  age, a combination of heredity as well as the effects of our hormones cause certain hair follicles to become smaller.  This prevents the hair from fulfilling its regular growth process called the anlagen phase. With female pattern hair loss, hair follicles gradually become smaller and the period of time in which the hair grows is reduced which causes each hair to become finer and shorter with each hair growth cycle.

Hormones area also a common cause of hair loss  and can trigger female pattern hair loss. After pregnancy we may also experience hair thinning and this can be long term or short term. 

We use a treatment called PRP which is platelet right plasma. We extract approx 8-10 mrs of plasma from your blood and centrifuge this for approx 8 minutes. This plasma is then injected back into the hair where it begins to stimulate the hair follicles. 

We recommend 3 sessions initially taken 4 weeks apart

PRP can be taken with other treatments such as the Dermalux LED therapy, Minoxidil as well as Biotin Injections. We would discuss and tailor a programme specific to you. 

Immediately after your sessions you will experience some redness and mild tenderness. There may also be some slight bleeding on your scalp which will settle within 48 hours. 

After each session  you must not wash your hair until the following day and cannot use any hair products for a minimum of 48 hours. 

Each session of PRP costs £250 which will give you approx 20 mls of PRP.
