ReNu Wellness: Revolutionising Wellness and Longevity in Dundee
The world of aesthetics and wellness is evolving, and I couldn’t be more excited to introduce ReNu Wellness, opening in April 2025
Many people choose cyst removal to treat a visible or uncomfortable lump beneath the skin, particularly when it becomes raised, irritated, or prone to inflammation. Removal can improve comfort, reduce the risk of repeated flare-ups, and provide reassurance once the cyst has been clinically assessed.
Reduces the look of visible lumps under the skin, particularly in areas such as the face, neck, or body where cysts can feel more noticeable.
Helps ease pressure, tenderness, or tightness that can develop as a cyst grows or becomes irritated.
Minimises the risk of the cyst becoming inflamed, swollen, or infected, which can lead to pain and repeated issues.
Stops the cyst catching on clothing, jewellery, or during shaving, which can cause ongoing discomfort.
Your journey begins with a detailed consultation. This allows us to closely examine the cyst and confirm that they are safe for removal.
Once confirmed as suitable for removal, you’ll be given details on the removal procedure to take home with you. If you decide to go ahead we can book your treatment.
We begin by gently numbing the area with local anaesthetic to ensure the procedure is completely painless. A small incision is made and the area will be closed with sutures.
Post-procedure you will leave the clinic with some small sutures and sterile dressings and full aftercare instructions.
To ensure the best possible healing and cosmetic outcome, we may schedule a review appointment post-procedure of around day 10 to remove the sutures.

Years of Experience
We use a local anaesthetic to ensure a pain-free experience during removal. While you may feel a brief sting from the lidocaine injection, most patients report minimal discomfort throughout the procedure. You might feel slight pressure or a mild sensation, but it’s generally well-tolerated and quick.
Because the procedure involves making an incision (cut) into the skin to fully remove the cyst and its sac, a scar is unavoidable.
After cyst removal, you will have a small wound where the cyst has been removed. As we need to make a small cut in the skin, a scar is expected, but this is usually neat and fades over time.
The area may feel tender, tight, swollen, or bruised for a few days,.A dressing will be applied, and aftercare advice will be provided to support healing.
If the cyst and its sac are completely removed, it is unlikely to return. However, there is a small risk of recurrence, particularly if the cyst wall cannot be fully removed.
Recovery typically takes 1-2 weeks, with complete healing and fading of any scar tissue occurring over a few weeks to months.
As with any minor surgical procedure, there are some risks, including infection, bleeding, scarring, and recurrence of the cyst. These are uncommon and we take every step to minimise them.
Most people can return to normal activities the same day. However, you may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise or stretching the area for a few days.
This depends on the area treated, but stitches are usually removed within 10–14 days.
We commonly treat sebaceous (epidermoid) cysts and other benign skin lesions. A consultation will confirm suitability before treatment. We do not remove cysts on the face
f clinically indicated, the cyst can be sent for histology (laboratory testing) to confirm the diagnosis. There will be a cost for this and this will be given a your consultation.
The cost of a cyst starts from £500. This includes your aftercare and review appointment and removal of sutures. For histology there will be an extra charge which will be given at your consultation. Larger cysts and additional cysts are chargeable.
