Lip Flip

A lip flip is a nonsurgical treatment that helps to make your lips appear fuller. We inject small amounts of botulinum toxin into the top of the lip and  the edges of your lips (vermillion border).

The botulinum toxin then relaxes the muscles around your upper lip, which makes your lip “flip” upward a tiny bit (eversion) and appear larger than normal.

A lip flip and lip fillers are both non surgical  procedures that make your lips look fuller.

Lip fillers are dermal fillers that use hyaluronic acid that are injected into the top and bottom lip. HA is a natural occurring sugar in the body.  With this procedure  your lips look immediately fuller after the procedure.

During a lip flip procedure, Botox is injected into small units into parts of your upper lip. This is not immediate and results show after approx a week.  The injections make your lip look fuller  without adding any volume to your lip.

Lip flips generally look more natural than lip fillers  but do not last as long.

To be considered you should:

Be in good physical health.

Have realistic expectations.

Not have an active oral infection or cold sores.

Not pregnant

No neuromuscular conditions

Over 18

You want your lips to look fuller.

Following  treatment with botulinum toxin a we expect longevity approx 8-16 weeks. This is dependent on many factors with each patient. We cannot guarantee results will be the same for every patient. Allergan BOTOX is FDA approved in literature from 3-6 months.

Like with any injections there may be some slight swelling, bruising as well as tenderness at the injection site. You may go back to work the same day. Procedure time is 15 min.
