How Is It Carried Out?
Multiple small injections of deoxycholic acid are delivered beneath the skin into the fatty tissue.
The area is injected with some local anaesthetic.

What is deoxycholic acid?
Deoxycholic acid is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring bile acid in the body that helps break down and absorb fat. When injected into targeted areas, it destroys fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated by the body over time.
What areas can be treated?
This treatment is ideal for reducing submental fullness (double chin) as well as jowls (lower face fat deposits along the jawline), bra fat and abdominal fat
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients require 2 to 4 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.
The number of sessions depends on the amount of fat, desired contour and individual response to treatment.
What results can I expect?
Gradual fat reduction over several weeks, a more defined jawline and slimmer facial profile. Results that are long-lasting, as the destroyed fat cells do not return.
Is it painful?
Mild to moderate discomfort is expected during injections.We use:local anaesthetic or cooling
to ensure comfort. You may feel a burning or tingling sensation for a few minutes post-injection.
What are the side effects?
The most common side effects include, swelling, bruising, redness and firmness, mild tenderness or numbness. Less common are temporary nerve irritation causing smile asymmetry and small nodules or hardness under the skin.
Is there any downtime?
Yes — expect visible swelling for 3–5 days. Many clients choose to have treatment at the end of the week or take time off work. Bruising and tenderness can last up to 10 days.
Who is not suitable for this treatment?
This treatment is not suitable if you pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of difficulty swallowing, have loose or sagging skin (not primarily fat), have an infection or skin condition in the area and are seeking an immediate result or have unrealistic expectations.
Is this a weight loss treatment?
No. This is a body contouring treatment designed to reduce localised fat deposits, not for general weight loss.
How do I book?
You’ll first have a full consultation with our Nurse Prescriber to assess your suitability. This can be booked online or via our clinic.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost of 1 x session of the chin area is £150 per session and the chin and Jowls are £250 per session.
